Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) is launching a special express delivery lecture program called ‘Run to You,’ which quickly visits residents at their desired time and place.
According to Seo-gu on the 3rd, ‘Run to You’ is one of the representative programs of ‘The Largest University in the World (Sekundae),’ a lifelong education specialized project promoted by Seo-gu. It carries a double meaning: providing learning opportunities to residents (Learn to you) and having instructors run to the locations residents want (Run to you).

Seo-gu introduced the ‘express delivery’ system, the first among local governments nationwide, which matches instructors within 48 hours of lecture application to provide customized education.
The lecture fields actively reflect residents’ needs and demands, including culture and arts, humanities, vocational skills enhancement, and basic literacy, with 99 professional instructors currently on standby.
Anyone forming a learning group of five or more people can apply for lectures at any time. From the 7th, applicants can set their desired lecture, location, and time and submit their application via email or by visiting the Seo-gu Lifelong Learning Center.
On the same day, Seo-gu conducted capacity-building training for Run to You instructors on the roles required of instructors in the lifelong learning era and communication methods with learners.
Kim Ikang, Seo-gu Mayor, who attended the training, said, “Run to You is expected to have very high satisfaction as it breaks away from government-led learning forms and allows residents to directly select and attend lectures they want to learn.” He added, “As residents’ willingness to learn is high, we hope to further strengthen instructors’ capabilities to provide high-quality lifelong education.”
Meanwhile, Seo-gu started the first semester of Sekundae last month on the 22nd.
This semester, 15 departments, 10 majors, and 108 lectures are being operated, and 18 neighborhood Happy Learning Centers have been converted into campuses to create a nearby learning zone.
