Expanding Eco-Friendly Vehicle-Only Parking Zones in Basement Level 1 to Accommodate the Growing Trend of Electric Cargo Vehicles and Create a Pleasant Parking Environment at Garak Mall

The Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Moon Young-pyo) announced that it has expanded and established designated parking zones for Garak Mall buyers to facilitate parking convenience for excellent customers during congested times such as nighttime at Garak Market.

The designated parking zones for Garak Mall buyers allocate 177 out of 563 parking spaces in the B2 underground parking lot, primarily targeting small and medium-sized cargo vehicles. These zones operate in two shifts during market congestion hours (00:00~03:00, 03:00~06:00).

In particular, this year, the designated parking zones were expanded by 16 spaces compared to the previous year to accommodate more purchasing vehicles.

Users of the designated parking were selected through a public recruitment in March, based on objective criteria such as the 2023 annual purchase performance at Garak Market and the average monthly vehicle entry frequency. A total of 123 purchasing companies and 308 cargo vehicles were designated, and operation began in April this year.

The operation period is one year, and a new public recruitment for the following year will be promoted before the expiration of the period.

Reflecting the recent trend of eco-friendly vehicles such as electric cars, two eco-friendly vehicle-only parking spaces were expanded and established on the B1 underground floor of Garak Mall. These eco-friendly vehicle-only parking zones are designated exclusively for electric, hybrid, and hydrogen electric vehicles. Through the gradual expansion of such eco-friendly parking zones, a pleasant parking environment for Garak Mall customers will be created.
