Offering various genres of busking every Wednesday and Friday evening until October at Gangnam Station, Samsung Haemaji Park, Dosan Park, and Yangjae Station
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) will hold street performances every Wednesday and Friday evening at major spots such as Gangnam Station until October.
Planned with the aim of allowing residents and tourists to enjoy various performances on the streets of Gangnam, the '365 Days FUN&FUN Gangnam' event successfully held a total of 10 performances last year, including dance competitions, random play dance, urban concerts, and busking. Now in its sixth year, the event has been changed to feature a variety of genres such as Taekwondo, traditional Korean music (gugak), jazz, and classical music every week so that more people can frequently experience street performances.
Starting with a jazz performance at Dosan Park on April 24, a total of 47 performances are planned until October, excluding the peak summer heat period. Performances will be held every Friday at 6:30 PM at Gangnam Square Plaza and every Wednesday at 6:30 PM at Dosan Park. In the first half of this year, performances can be enjoyed at Samsung Haemaji Park every Friday at 8 PM from May 10 to June 21, and at Exit 3 of Yangjae Station on Wednesday, May 29 and June 19 at 6:30 PM.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “We will prepare high-quality performances that captivate the eyes and ears of people walking the streets,” adding, “In addition to large-scale festivals such as the Yeongdong-daero Concert and G-KPOP Concert, we will highlight the charm of Gangnam as a world-class cultural tourism city through street performances that can be enjoyed like small everyday events.”
