'May Family Month' Abundant Festivals in 17 Regions Including Suwon

Gyeonggi Province will hold various events by region in May to celebrate 'Family Month.'

On the 3rd, Gyeonggi Province announced that it has provided 450 million won in project funds to support 'Family Day' events at family centers in 17 cities and counties across the province.

Looking at the major events by region, Suwon City will hold the 'Saebit Family Festival' at Gwanggyo Lake Park on the 11th, featuring an awards ceremony for a family photo and video contest, a family love balloon-popping performance, and a promotional booth to raise awareness that single-person households are also one of the diverse family types.

Gunpo City will host the 'Da (多) Diverse Families Da (多) Together Family Harmony Festival' at the Gunpo National Sports Center soccer field on the 15th, including a pledge ceremony for becoming good parents and a family fun sports day, creating a space where multicultural and non-multicultural families can enjoy together.

Other events include ▲ Namyangju City's Moduga Happy Day Family Sports Day (May 5) ▲ Anyang City's Family Love, Nature Love, Happy Playground (May 11) ▲ Uiwang City's Whole Family Happiness Festival (May 18) ▲ Yangju City's Valuable Family, Together Our Family (May 18) ▲ Guri City's Family+ Addition Festa (May 18).

Kim Miseong, Director of the Women's and Family Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, said, "Through Family Day events, we hope people will feel the importance of family and that consensus on family policies will spread," adding, "Gyeonggi Province will continue to strive to provide family services that diverse families can experience."
