Dedicated 5G Private Network for Industrial Sites
Establishment of Smart Safety Management System and More

The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 2nd that it plans to actively promote digital supply for newly established industrial complexes in order to focus on fostering aging industrial complexes into advanced industry innovation hubs.

The 'Incheon Gyeyang Industrial Complex,' jointly developed by the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, is a representative example. This site, which is about to begin full-scale construction, will be developed as an innovative industrial complex based on 5G and solar power.

The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation's strategy is to develop the Incheon Gyeyang Industrial Complex, which has an optimal location, into an industrial complex capable of responding to digital transformation (DX) through a 5G specialized network (Eum 5G), thereby supporting smooth production activities for companies.

Once the 5G specialized network is implemented within the industrial complex, it will be possible to connect people or devices belonging to specific companies and provide specialized services. In addition, it will become easier to establish digital infrastructure capable of providing industrial safety solutions such as smart CCTV and smart safety management systems within the Incheon Gyeyang Industrial Complex.

The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation also plans to proactively pursue efforts to increase the energy self-sufficiency rate of the Gyeyang Industrial Complex. It will actively promote the introduction of renewable energy such as solar power and lead efforts to save energy and achieve self-reliance by incorporating smart streetlight systems. Furthermore, through the construction of a distributed energy system, it plans to contribute to energy production and storage near the industrial complex and the resolution of surplus electricity.

Lee Sang-hoon, President of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, visited the project site on the day and said, “We will develop the Incheon Gyeyang Industrial Complex into a future industrial complex based on digital infrastructure and renewable energy, harmonized with culture,” adding, “We will open a new era of industrial complexes and promote regional economic revitalization.”
