Kia April Sales Volume 260,000 Units... 0.6% Increase YoY

Sportage's Continued Popularity... Approximately 50,000 Units Sold Worldwide

Kia sold approximately 260,000 vehicles worldwide in April this year. While domestic demand decreased by about 3% compared to the same month last year, overseas sales increased by 1.6%, maintaining overall sales growth.

Kia announced on the 2nd that it sold a total of 261,022 units in the global market in April. Specifically, 47,505 units were sold domestically, 213,081 units overseas, and 436 units were special vehicles.

Compared to the same period last year, domestic sales decreased by 3.2%, while overseas sales increased by 1.6%. The best-selling model across both domestic and overseas markets was the Sportage, with a total of 49,077 units sold. This was followed by the Seltos with 29,014 units and the Sorento with 22,889 units.

In the domestic market, the Sorento led with 7,865 units sold, marking a 15.1% increase compared to the same month last year. The Sportage also saw a 14.3% increase during the same period, selling 7,179 units. The Carnival sold 6,879 units, up 6.1% from the previous year. The top three selling models domestically were all recreational vehicles (RVs). Total domestic RV sales reached 30,353 units, a 2.9% increase from April last year.

For passenger cars, the Ray sold 4,460 units, the K5 3,168 units, and the K8 1,988 units. Total passenger car sales were 12,626 units, down 11.2% compared to the same month last year.

The best-selling vehicle overseas was also the Sportage, with total sales of 41,898 units. This was followed by the Seltos with 23,989 units and the K3 (Forte) with 20,959 units.

A Kia representative stated, "We will enhance sales volume and profitability by launching competitive vehicles such as the improved EV3 and EV6 models and the upgraded K8 model."
