"Congratulations on Moving to Gwangjin-gu"... 'Welcome Box' Presented to Single-Person Households

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) welcomes single-person households moving into Gwangjin-gu and provides a ‘Welcome Box’ to help them adapt well to their new homes.

The ‘Welcome Box’ contains a Gwangjin-gu single-person household guidebook, safety items, and useful daily necessities reflecting preferences. It includes the ‘Gwangjin Single Life Tips Collection.Zip’ guidebook with practical information for single-person households, basic safety items such as a portable fire extinguisher and a personal alarm, and allows recipients to choose one item from a tool set, single-person tableware set, or diffuser set according to personal taste.

The district also conducts a lifestyle survey including items to assess the risk of solitary death when applying for the Welcome Box, aiming to identify socially isolated households early and to discover customized new projects through demand surveys.

The Welcome Box is provided to 1,000 single-person households aged 19 to 64 (born between 1960 and 2005) who have registered their move from other cities, provinces, or districts. Those who registered their move since January this year can apply and receive the box retroactively.

Applicants can submit the application form at the local community service center of their address when registering their move or apply online, and the Welcome Box will be delivered to their home. Detailed schedules can be checked on the Gwangjin-gu Office website or the district’s social media channels.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We prepared the Welcome Box with a warm welcome for single-person households moving into Gwangjin-gu,” and added, “We will do our best to make Gwangjin a place where single-person households can live securely and happily.”
