Daejeon City, Korea Exchange, and KAIST have joined hands to support the listing of promising companies in Daejeon.
On the 2nd, Daejeon City signed the 'Daejeon Promising Companies Listing Support Agreement' at the ICC Hotel, attended by Jang Hojong, Deputy Mayor for Economic and Scientific Affairs of Daejeon City, Hong Soonwook, Vice Chairman of Korea Exchange, and Kim Kyungsoo, Vice President for External Affairs of KAIST.
The signatory organizations agreed to strengthen cooperation in operating the IPO support center promoted by Daejeon City, jointly developing customized support programs tailored to different listing stages, and co-hosting listing system briefings and seminars.
With the rapid increase of listed companies in Daejeon centered on the four major strategic industries, they recognized the necessity of a focused nurturing system and program operation for listed companies, and will actively promote the establishment of a one-stop listing support platform covering the entire cycle from preparation to listing.
Additionally, to strengthen support for technology-special listing, which was utilized by three of the seven KOSDAQ-listed companies in the 8th local government term (Plasmapp, Kosem, and Y-Biologics), they agreed to jointly develop customized programs for each stage of the listing process.
They also plan to co-host listing system briefings and seminars to provide information on the overall listing process, share key review points and listing cases, improve accessibility for companies preparing for listing, and resolve difficulties.
Furthermore, they will enhance tailored support for individual companies by strengthening pre-capability diagnosis for companies wishing to list, consulting on weak points and demand areas, and expert mentoring focused on listing.
Jang Hojong, Deputy Mayor for Economic and Scientific Affairs of Daejeon City, said, “For fostering advanced industries such as Daejeon’s four core strategic industries, company listing is important as it has effects such as fundraising, enhancing external credibility, and securing excellent talent.” He added, “Daejeon City aims to have 100 listed companies by 2030 and will closely cooperate with Korea Exchange and KAIST to operate professional and systematic support programs for listed companies.”
