Changwon Special City Seongsan-gu Holds Birthday Party Visiting Elderly Living Alone

On the 2nd, Seongsan-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, visited eight elderly people living alone in the district and held the second birthday party for the elderly living alone this year.

Seongsan-gu held a birthday party for the elderly in celebration of Family Month.

This birthday party was held in eight neighborhoods of Seongsan-gu, where members of the local community security council visited the homes of elderly people living alone, prepared birthday tables, held celebration events, and delivered gifts such as flowerpots, snacks, and cheering sticks, spending warm and happy times with the lonely elderly during Family Month.

An elderly person who received the birthday table said, “I am happy because there was the warmth of people in my usually lonely home, and I am really grateful for the delicious food and gifts brought to celebrate.”

Shin Mi-kyung, Director of the Social Welfare Division, said, “We would like to thank the sponsors who help every time the birthday party event is held. Seongsan-gu will continue to promote various welfare policies so that the elderly can live a healthy and happy old age.”

Meanwhile, the birthday party for elderly people living alone in Seongsan-gu was first implemented in 2016 as a special policy of Seongsan-gu and has continued as a sharing project to this day, supported by four companies and one organization: Beomhan Mecatech, Rosa Flower, Greenhouse, Nextech System, and the Dong Community Security Council.
