2024 'Dongseo Food Dream Library' Project
Book Sponsorship and Library Environment Improvement Social Contribution Activities
Dongseo Foods announced on the 2nd that it conducted the elementary school book support program '2024 Dongseo Foods Dream Library' at Bongsan Elementary School in Seo-gu, Daejeon, ahead of Children's Day.
Dongseo Foods Dream Library is a social contribution program that donates books to elementary schools and improves library environments so that children, the future leaders, can nurture their dreams through reading. Since starting at Sangsan Elementary School in Jincheon, Chungbuk in 2017, Dongseo Foods has selected one elementary school each year to donate books and support improvements in reading environments.

This year, Bongsan Elementary School in Daejeon was selected as the eighth support target upon recommendation from the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education. The school is known for its high enthusiasm for reading activities among students and a very high library usage rate, but it was reported to have a shortage of books and shelves, and outdated facilities.
Accordingly, Dongseo Foods purchased and donated about 3,000 books tailored to each grade level. They also replaced damaged or old bookshelves and installed additional shelves to create a more comfortable reading environment.
Choi Sang-in, Director of Public Relations at Dongseo Foods, said, "We hope that the books donated through this Dream Library will provide students with the joy of reading and serve as an opportunity to nurture their dreams," adding, "We will continue various social contribution activities in the cultural and arts fields, including support for elementary school books."
