Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Prepares Various Events to Celebrate Children's Day

Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will hold a Children's Day commemorative event on the 4th under the theme "A Beautiful World of Dreams" to celebrate Children's Day.

Held in conjunction with the 2nd Gwangsan Music ON Festival at Hwangryong Chinsu Park, this commemorative event will feature a ceremony including the reading of the Children's Charter, awards for exemplary children, and the singing of the Children's Day song, as well as various performances and experiential programs such as children's Nanta performances, soap bubble shows, and treasure hunts.


An "Children's Rights Puppet Show" themed around discrimination in the animal kingdom will also be presented. This puppet show, designed to be easy and fun, aims to engage children's interest and raise awareness and understanding of children's rights among citizens attending the festival.


Gwangsan-gu will also promote joint publicity activities for the prevention of child abuse in collaboration with child protection agencies including the Gwangju Police Agency, Gwangsan Police Station, Gwangju Child Protection Agency, and the Foster Care Support Center.


At the "Positive Parenting 129 Principles" promotional booth, various events such as spinning a roulette, nostalgic lottery boards, and taking SNS certification photos will be available.


Park Byung-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, "I hope this Children's Day event will be a precious time for children to laugh, enjoy, and dream of a happy future," adding, "We will always do our best for the happiness and healthy growth of children, who are our dreams and hopes."
