The Korea Health Industry Development Institute's Medical Device Industry Support Center announced on the 2nd that it will hold an 'Integrated Explanation Session for the Entire Medical Device Industry Cycle' for medical device companies at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in conjunction with the upcoming 'Bio Korea 2024' event on the 8th.

At this session, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, and the National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA) will participate together to provide specialized information on the entire medical device cycle directly. Starting with a welcome speech by Hwang Seong-eun, Director of the Health Industry Development Institute, the session will proceed in the following order: ▲ Introduction to the Medical Device Industry Support Center ▲ Domestic medical device approval procedures (MFDS) ▲ Health insurance listing procedures (HIRA) ▲ New medical technology assessment procedures (NECA) ▲ Introduction to the integrated review system for innovative medical devices.

Although pre-registration for on-site participation has closed, the organizers plan to simultaneously conduct a YouTube live broadcast for those unable to attend in person.

Director Hwang Seong-eun stated, “We expect this session to enhance understanding of medical device regulations and procedures and help establish business models that can be introduced into medical practice,” adding, "We will continue to actively communicate in various ways to support companies facing difficulties entering the medical device market, resolve challenges, and expand connections with government support projects."
