Request to Reflect Local Issues in Government Projects
Minister Park Sang-woo Expresses Commitment in Meeting
Lee Seunghwa, the mayor of Sancheong County, is working tirelessly to resolve residents' long-standing projects. On the 2nd, Sancheong County announced that it visited three central government ministries?the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ministry of Environment?to reflect local pending projects in government initiatives and secure national funding.
On this day, Mayor Lee Seunghwa and related officials explained the current issues to the three ministries regarding the selection of 11 projects (364.6 billion KRW), the priority reflection of the 6th Five-Year National and Local Road Construction Plan, and the early implementation of projects.
Lee Seunghwa, the governor of Sancheong County, is having a meeting with Park Sangwoo, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
In particular, Mayor Lee expressed his determination to secure early national funding and project plan inclusion through a meeting with Park Sangwoo, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The mayor actively explained the justification and necessity of five resident-requested projects and requested national support.
The proposed projects include the additional implementation (Phase 7) of the ‘Improvement Project for the Sanghaeng Section Intersection in the Jungchon District on National Road No. 3,’ priority reflection in the 6th Five-Year National and Local Road Construction Plan for the remaining sections of the ‘Sancheong Sicheon-Danseong National Road Construction Project (National Road No. 20),’ the ‘Sancheong-Chahwang National Road Construction (National Road No. 59),’ and the ‘Sancheong Sindeung-Hapcheon Gahoe Local Road Construction (Local Road No. 60),’ as well as selection for the ‘Oksan District (Specialized Regeneration Type) Urban Regeneration Public Contest Project.’
Additionally, during the visit to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Disaster Mitigation Division, support was requested for projects such as the selection of the Oksan District Natural Disaster Risk Improvement Area Maintenance Project and the Daepo District Comprehensive Flood and Wind Damage Living Area Maintenance Project.
Along with this, at the Ministry of Environment’s Domestic Sewage Division, the county conveyed residents’ wishes for the selection of sewage expansion projects in rural fishing villages including the Sijang, Ipseok, Naedae, and Jusang districts.
Mayor Lee stated, “To secure the maximum national funding and project inclusion next year, we will continue to engage in ongoing consultations with central ministries regarding government policy directions and project necessity,” adding, “We will continue to focus all administrative efforts on securing national funding to resolve residents’ long-standing projects.”
