Discussed Content to Be Reviewed Internally and Reflected in Single-Person Household Policy
Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the ‘Geumcheon-gu Na·Hon·Salm Talk Show’ with the participation of 100 single-person households at 2 p.m. on May 11 in the district office auditorium.
As of the end of 2023, the proportion of single-person households in Geumcheon-gu is 52.1% of all households, ranking fourth highest among Seoul’s autonomous districts.
The ‘Geumcheon-gu Na·Hon·Salm Talk Show’ was planned to discover district-specialized projects through discussions where beneficiaries of single-person household policies directly present opinions for a happy single life.
The participants are 100 single-person households who either reside in Geumcheon-gu or work at workplaces located in Geumcheon-gu (first-come, first-served). Interested individuals can apply by scanning the QR code on the promotional materials or by phone. Residents who cannot attend in person on the day of the event can also participate online via Geumcheon-gu Office’s official YouTube channel.
The district will conduct a preliminary survey on topics such as perceptions of single-person households and support policy areas needed for single-person households among the participants.
On the day of the event, after icebreaking activities and a pre-event performance by a B-boy team composed of single-person household members, single-person household residents will gather for discussions. Before the discussion, District Mayor Yu Seong-hoon will explain the single-person household projects being promoted by the district. The event will proceed with small-group roundtable discussions under the theme ‘Finding Happiness for Single-Person Households (Sharing Ideas to Improve Quality of Life),’ followed by a general discussion.
Participants will freely discuss ideas and necessary policies in various fields such as health and self-care, housing and employment, social networks, and safety.
The policy demands for single-person households derived from the preliminary survey and discussions will be analyzed and reviewed for future promotion as specialized projects.
Participants will receive a coffee coupon for completing the preliminary survey, and on the day of the event, they will be given souvenirs and a small gift certificate.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “In celebration of Family Month in May, I hope this will be an opportunity for various single-person households as social families to come together and communicate,” and added, “We will continue to strive to implement detailed support policies to improve the quality of life for single-person households.”
