Gangbuk-gu to Recruit a Total of 365 Participants for the '2024 Second Half Public Job Project'

Gangbuk-gu to Recruit a Total of 365 Participants for the '2024 Second Half Public Job Project'

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced on the 2nd that it will recruit participants for the "2024 Second Half Public Job Project" in Gangbuk-gu from the 10th to the 17th.


The total number of participants for the "2024 Second Half Public Job Project" in Gangbuk-gu is 365, including 348 for the Seoul Companion Job Project and 17 for the Community Job Project.


The "2024 Second Half Seoul Companion Job Project" is a public job project (formerly public work and safe job projects) designed to support jobs for low-income unemployed individuals and vulnerable employment groups.


The total number of recruits for the second half of 2024 is 348, deployed across 35 projects in 5 fields: ▲Economically Vulnerable Project (54 people, supporting low-income and elderly living alone) ▲Climate and Environmental Vulnerable Project (176 people, recycling waste resources) ▲Digital Vulnerable Project (32 people, digital assistant project at health centers) ▲Social Safety Vulnerable Project (10 people, river environment maintenance) ▲Physically Vulnerable Project (76 people, support for operation of facilities for the disabled).


Applicants must be Gangbuk-gu residents aged 18 or older with the ability to work. However, those whose household combined median income is 80% or more (2-person household, 2,946,087 KRW) or whose assets (housing, automobiles, etc.) exceed 499 million KRW, and those with two participants from one household are excluded from eligibility.


The wage is 10,000 KRW per hour, with support for four major insurances, weekly and monthly leave allowances, and snack expenses. Those under 65 work 25 to 30 hours per week, and those 65 or older work 15 hours per week. However, working hours may be adjusted according to the characteristics of each project site.


Additionally, the district is also accepting applications for the "2024 Second Half Community Job Project."


The Community Job Project provides jobs to residents willing to work to promote livelihood and employment stability and help stabilize their lives. A total of 17 people will be selected and deployed across 5 projects in 4 fields: ▲Manager for Revitalizing the Sewing Industry (1 person, utilizing local resources) ▲Operation of Joint Workshop for the Disabled (1 person, linked with local companies) ▲Facility Management at the Comprehensive Childcare Support Center (1 person, supporting low-income residents) ▲Park Management Innovation for Creating Service Parks (9 people, improving local spaces) ▲Green Ecological Environment Improvement Project such as Ui Stream (5 people, improving local spaces).


Applicants must be Gangbuk-gu residents aged 18 or older with the ability to work. However, those whose household income is 70% or more of the median income and whose assets (housing, automobiles, etc.) exceed 499 million KRW, and those with two participants from one household are excluded from eligibility.


The wage is 9,860 KRW per hour, with support for four major insurances, weekly and monthly leave allowances, and snack expenses. Those under 65 work 25 to 30 hours per week, and those 65 or older work 15 hours per week. However, working hours may be adjusted according to the characteristics of each project site.


For both projects, recipients of livelihood benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act and unemployment benefits can participate only if they waive their benefit rights.


Those wishing to participate should bring their ID and visit the community service center of their registered residence. Detailed information on required documents and working conditions can be found on the Gangbuk-gu website, and inquiries can be made to the Gangbuk-gu Job and Youth Division.


Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "I hope this job project will provide some help to residents struggling with employment," and added, "Gangbuk-gu will continue to support residents in need of jobs through job counseling and private job introductions."
