On the 29th, the launching ceremony was held at the auditorium on the 2nd floor of Dongdaemun-gu Office, attended by Mayor Ilhyeong Lee of Dongdaemun-gu, representatives of participating divisions (organizations, institutions), and many residents.

"Carbon Talks Dongdaemun" will, starting from May, gather opinions from members by division to discover key initiatives for reducing carbon emissions and carry out full-scale practical activities. At the end of the year, a performance sharing meeting will be held to commend and disseminate outstanding carbon neutrality practice cases.

Dongdaemun-gu, which declared its intention to become a "carbon-neutral city" in February last year, opened the "Carbon Neutrality Support Center" in August 2023, the first among Seoul's autonomous districts, and in December was selected as a preliminary carbon-neutral city in the Ministry of Environment's carbon neutrality public contest project, making efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
