"Why Struggle Making PPT?"... MS Copilot Korean Version Released

Utilizing Copilot Generative AI Features in Various MS Office Programs
Just Enter Text and It Works 'Cheokcheok' Automatically

"When will the Korean version be released?"

This is the question Cho Won-woo, CEO of Microsoft Korea (MS), has been asked most frequently recently. The Korean version of Copilot, a GPT-based generative artificial intelligence (AI) service available in MS Office programs, was launched on the 30th.

The product name is 'Copilot for MS 365'.

By using Copilot embedded in frequently used Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, users can perform tasks like summarizing, translating, and organizing. Without having to visit the OpenAI website, users can safely utilize data related to their work and use the Korean version of ChatGPT features.

Last November, a version supporting some languages including English, Spanish, and German was first released, and today, Korean along with some other national languages have been added. Domestic companies wishing to use Copilot for MS 365 can choose between the Standard plan (monthly subscription fee of 16,900 KRW) and the Premium plan (monthly 29,700 KRW).

On the same day, MS held the 'Microsoft AI Tour' at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, to announce this news. In his keynote speech, CEO Cho stated, "We have added the capabilities of the Copilot AI solution to MS's representative collaboration tools," and "Today, the Korean version has been released."

The event featured booths introducing various services utilizing Copilot. Oh Seong-mi, head of the Modern Work Business Division at Microsoft Korea, explained, "Copilot for MS 365 is a business-to-business (B2B) solution that enhances work efficiency and productivity."

By using this feature, not only can meeting transcripts of members using MS Teams be organized and summarized, but users can also filter and view only the parts related to their work. Copilot analyzes Word, Excel, and PPT files exchanged among members and extracts only the desired content. Accuracy is ensured through source citations.

Additionally, creating PPT slides with Copilot is expected to become easier. When text is entered, PPT slides are generated based on it, and commands such as "attach an image" or "make it more concise" can be given in text form to modify the slides accordingly.

The same applies to Excel. Even without knowing commands that usually require studying thick books on Excel, users can input natural language (everyday language people commonly use) to perform tasks such as analyzing Excel content or converting graphs into tables smoothly.

CEO Cho expressed confidence, saying, "We will help individuals and organizations achieve more by utilizing AI tools," and added, "We expect to improve development speed by 96%, increase productivity by 88%, and enhance satisfaction by 74% compared to before."

Meanwhile, LG Electronics Home Appliance Division Executive Vice President Woo Jeong-hoon made a surprise appearance during the keynote speech. He announced the launch of 'Chatda,' an interactive data analysis system developed using MS's cloud 'Azure' and AI technology.

Vice President Woo shared that they were able to analyze large and complex unstructured data generated from various home appliances by leveraging MS technology.
