Artificial intelligence (AI) language data company and enterprise Flitto announced on the 30th that it will provide AI multilingual interpretation and translation services in cooperation with the Tongyeong Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
Flitto and the Tongyeong Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to support labor administration for foreign workers. Through the real-time multilingual interpretation and translation solution ‘Chat Translation (Chat Translation·conversation translation)’ utilizing AI technology, administrative services for foreign workers will be strengthened.
According to the employment status of foreign workers under the jurisdiction of the Tongyeong Branch, workers of Nepalese nationality account for 23.6%, the highest, followed by Indonesia at 14.8%, and Uzbekistan at 13.6%. Flitto provides a total of 38 multilingual services including the languages of these countries. Foreign workers in the jurisdiction of the Tongyeong Branch are expected to significantly reduce the burden of using administrative services due to language barriers.
Foreigners visiting the Tongyeong Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor will be able to receive explanations related to employment support with accurate translation results suitable for the usage context, including industrial terms used in workplaces such as manufacturing, shipbuilding, fisheries, and agriculture and livestock industries, as well as frequently used words in daily life.
‘Chat Translation (Chat Translation·conversation translation)’ is characterized by significantly improving the accuracy of speech recognition (Speech to Text) and AI translation results through high-quality data learning. It helps anyone communicate easily and accurately in their native language, and is especially utilized in workplaces, medical centers, tourist information centers, and administrative support centers.
Lee Jeong-su, CEO of Flitto, said, "We are pleased to provide convenience in labor administrative services to foreign workers together with the Tongyeong Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor," and added, "We will further focus on technology development and advancement to support multilingual services using AI translation technology wherever global communication is needed."
