April 22-30, Safety Inspection to Prevent Fatal Accidents at Outdoor Golf Courses in Busan
The Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Director Gong Heung-du) recently conducted patrol inspections from April 22 to April 30 at nine outdoor golf courses located in Busan to prevent similar accidents in the same industry, following a serious accident that occurred at an outdoor golf course in Gijang-gun.
From April 22 to April 30, the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency conducted patrol inspections targeting nine outdoor golf courses located in Busan.
The patrol inspections focused on preventive measures against the three major types of accidents (falls, entrapments, collisions) and the safety and health management of subcontracted projects. Workplaces with imminent dangers or poor safety and health management conditions will be subject to administrative actions, followed by inspections and management by the local Employment and Labor Office branch responsible for the respective workplace.
The Busan Eastern Employment and Labor Office and the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency held a meeting on the 16th attended by golf course representatives, labor inspectors, and agency staff to emphasize the importance of preventing serious accidents by sharing the status and plans for safety and health promotion at each workplace, conducting special safety accident training, and providing guidance on industrial safety diagnostics and risk assessments.
