"Complaining of pain but does not stop"
"Compensation of approximately 11.4 million KRW paid"
Taiwanese media CTWANT reported on the 28th (local time) that a student at a famous dance academy in China suffered a leg fracture while stretching.
According to the report, 19-year-old Zhang Yang from Chongqing, China, sustained a fracture last year due to excessive stretching by an instructor at a well-known dance academy. The photos released by the media show Zhang Yang struggling to stretch with one leg placed on a chair and the other leg on the floor. The report explained, "Even though Zhang Yang complained of pain, the instructor did not stop."
After being transported to the hospital, Zhang Yang was diagnosed with a comminuted fracture of the left femur and underwent surgery on the fourth day of hospitalization. Zhang Yang stated, "At first, the academy said they would cover the medical expenses, but after a video showing my injury spread online, they are now holding me legally responsible." The academy responded by saying they would file a lawsuit against Zhang Yang, claiming that she "seriously damaged the academy's reputation and caused significant adverse effects."
In March of this year, Zhang Yang was assessed with a disability grade 10 (indicating some limitations in work and daily life). Zhang Yang said, "I have filed a lawsuit against the dance academy in court." CTWANT reported, "Subsequently, the dance academy took full responsibility and covered all surgery costs. According to an agreement between both parties, the academy paid Zhang Yang compensation exceeding 60,000 yuan (approximately 11.4 million KRW)."
