Chairman Choi Deung-gyu of Daebo Group Donates 1 Billion Won to Junior Golf Development

On the 29th, the Didimdol Foundation announced that Chairman Choi donated 1 billion KRW. The funds will be used for hosting tournaments to nurture junior golf talents under CLUBD, mentoring programs, and programs to expand the golf base. Since 2000, Chairman Choi has worked to bring golf closer to the public by hosting the Seowon Valley Charity Green Concert, held at the Seowon Valley Country Club course owned by Daebo Group. This year’s 20th Green Concert will be held on the 25th of next month.

Seowon Valley Country Club has hosted tournaments for the LPGA Tour, KLPGA Tour, and KPGA Tour. It also conducts various activities to expand the golf base, including the largest women’s amateur tournament in Korea, golf tournaments for the visually impaired, free weddings for multicultural families, and nurturing junior golf talents through the Seowon Academy.

Chairman Choi was recently ranked 3rd among the most influential figures in the Asian golf industry by the American golf magazine Golf Inc. He said, "Based on the belief that corporate profits must be used to help those in need, I have taken great interest in social contribution through golf. Following the launch of a new golf team composed of professionals and amateurs last month, I feel a great sense of fulfillment in being able to play a role in nurturing future golf talents who will represent Korea."
