Haenam·Jindo Myeongnyang Marine Cable Car to Hold Various Events on Children's Day

Free Ride for Preschool Children and 50% Discount for Elementary School Students

May, the queen of seasons and the most exciting month of the year for children, is approaching, and various events are being prepared in Haenam and Jindo, Jeollanam-do, to welcome young visitors during the Children's Day holiday.

In Jindo, Jeollanam-do, the Jindo Dog Festival will be held for two days on the 3rd and 4th of next month to celebrate Jindo Dog Day. Haenam County will host the Haenam Dinosaur Grand Festival at the Haenam Dinosaur Museum from the 4th to the 6th of next month, preparing various hands-on activities to welcome children.

Accordingly, the Myeongnyang Marine Cable Car, a representative tourist attraction in Haenam and Jindo, will offer special benefits to family tourists visiting during the Children's Day holiday in connection with the local festivals.

From the 4th to the 6th of next month, all preschool children visiting the Myeongnyang Marine Cable Car will be allowed free rides, and elementary school students will receive a 50% discount event for three days.

The Myeongnyang Marine Cable Car, the first in Korea to cross over a historic site, can be used not only as a simple tourist facility but also as a living history experience space for children.

Visitors can learn about the history of the Battle of Myeongnyang and Admiral Yi Sun-sin through the Naval Battle Memorial Hall located within the Usuyeong Tourist Site where the cable car is situated, and the Myeongnyang Victory Memorial Hall inside Jindo Tower, while feeling the mysterious whirlpool energy of Uldolmok from the sky aboard the cable car.

Notably, on Children's Day, the 5th, the water currents whirl strongly, so if you use the cable car timed with the tidal currents, you can enjoy an even more thrilling ride.

Additionally, about 20 minutes by car from the Myeongnyang Marine Cable Car, San-i Garden, Jeollanam-do’s first garden-style botanical garden, will open on May 4th, providing a great option for visitors seeking rest and healing. San-i Garden and the Myeongnyang Marine Cable Car are expected to emerge as important linked tourist destinations in the southwestern region of Jeollanam-do.
