Dongdaemun-gu Presents Appreciation Plaques to Outstanding Donors for Warm Winter Campaign

2024 Warm Winter Support Project: Top 5 Donors in Cash and Goods Awarded Appreciation Plaques by District Mayor

Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Ilhyeong Lee) invited outstanding donors who participated in the ‘2024 Warm Winter Campaign’ to the mayor’s reception room at 10 a.m. on the 26th and presented them with plaques of appreciation.

The district selected the top 5 donors of goods and the top 5 donors of money among those who had not received plaques of appreciation within the past 5 years, awarding a total of 10 people with plaques from the mayor.

The recipients attending the ceremony included representatives from ▲ Jang-an Comprehensive Social Welfare Center ▲ Korea Freedom Federation Dongdaemun Branch ▲ Dapsimni 1-dong Village Event Promotion Committee ▲ KB Kookmin Bank & Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry International ▲ Evezari ▲ Jeil Environment ▲ Dongdo Church ▲ Dongdaemun-gu Kindergarten Association ▲ Daemireukbongsimhoe ▲ Dongdaemun-gu Public and Private Daycare Center Association.

The awardees shared their acceptance speeches and deeply resonated with the spread of a culture of sharing, agreeing to continue their volunteer efforts for vulnerable groups in the local community.

Mayor Ilhyeong Lee stated, “In these difficult times, the heart that thinks of our marginalized neighbors feels even more precious,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure that sincerity and the spirit of sharing are conveyed throughout Dongdaemun-gu.”

Dongdaemun-gu’s ‘2024 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign’ once again surpassed the previous year’s record, raising a total of 1.389 billion KRW. The generously donated funds will be used to support struggling neighbors with living expenses, medical costs, housing fees, and more.
