"Creating a University Startup Ecosystem"... Ewha Womans University Launches Technology Holding Personal Investment Association

Ewha Womans University Technology Holdings Company has established a startup fund worth 1 billion KRW to support university startups and held the 'Ewha Womans University Technology Holdings Future Startup & Innovation Startup Private Investment Association Launch Ceremony.'

Ewha Womans University Launches Technology Holding Personal Investment Association Ewha Womans University announced on the 27th that a technology holding company's private investment association, which established a 1 billion KRW startup fund to support university startups, has been launched.

The Ewha Womans University Technology Holdings Private Investment Association, established on the 18th, consists of two funds: the Future Startup Fund and the Innovation Startup Fund, each with 500 million KRW, totaling 1 billion KRW. The general partner (GP), Ewha Womans University Technology Holdings Company, along with faculty, staff, and alumni, jointly invested. The fund will operate for a total of seven years, including a three-year investment period.


The launch ceremony was attended by Seo Ji-hee and Lee Jun-seong, co-CEOs of Ewha Womans University Technology Holdings Company, as well as executives and employees of the technology holdings company and investment review committee members, including alumni working in venture capital.


At the launch ceremony, the newly established Future Startup Fund and Innovation Startup Fund were introduced, announcing the launch of the first private investment association and holding a meeting to discuss the operation strategy of the private investment association.


Ewha Womans University Technology Holdings plans to focus the newly established fund on investing in university technology-based startup companies to foster the university startup ecosystem. Investment areas include advanced bio, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors & displays, next-generation communications, hydrogen, quantum, food, and environment.


Seo Ji-hee and Lee Jun-seong, co-CEOs of Ewha Womans University Technology Holdings, stated, "We will support technology-based startup companies utilizing the university's excellent research achievements," adding, "The Ewha Womans University Technology Holdings Private Investment Association is especially meaningful as it embodies the hopes of Ewha alumni and faculty and staff to promote the growth of university startups."
