Last Month, a City Hall Official Also Died After Suffering from Civil Complaints
Recently, a public official in Gimpo City, Gyeonggi Province, who had been suffering from protest complaints, was found dead, and another public official from the same city hall was also found dead.
On the 25th, the Gimpo Police Department announced that at around 8:35 a.m., a public official in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, affiliated with Gimpo City Hall, was found dead in the parking lot of the soccer field in Masan-dong, Gimpo City. At the time of discovery, Mr. A was found dead inside a car parked in the parking lot, and no suicide note was found.
At around 8:12 a.m. that day, a colleague of Mr. A reported to 112 that they could not reach Mr. A. The police are investigating the specific circumstances of Mr. A’s death by questioning his colleagues and family members.
It is understood that Mr. A was usually in charge of sports facility-related duties. The police are investigating and currently see no signs of criminal suspicion. Although there is no confirmed evidence that Mr. A was suffering from complaints, further investigation on this matter will continue.
At Gimpo City Hall, on the 5th of last month, a Grade 9 public official, Mr. B (37), was also found dead in his vehicle. It is understood that Mr. B had been suffering from protest complaints. He reportedly received complaints when the entire vehicle was damaged due to road pothole repair work. Additionally, his personal information was exposed on a local online cafe.
