10 Companies Including Goyoung, Lino Industry, and Megastudy Education Attend
Chairman Jeong Eun-bo, "Will Actively Communicate with Shareholders Reflecting KOSDAQ Characteristics"
The Korea Exchange announced on the 26th that it held a growth company meeting for corporate value-up chaired by Chairman Jeong Eun-bo.
The meeting was organized to hear on-site opinions regarding support measures for corporate value-up, targeting 10 companies listed on the KOSDAQ market. The meeting was attended by 10 companies including ▲Koh Young ▲Rino Industrial ▲Megastudy Education ▲Alteogen ▲Ebest Investment & Securities ▲EO Technics ▲Classys ▲Pureun Savings Bank ▲HK Innoen ▲HLB.
Chairman Jeong emphasized, "The KOSDAQ market is a core infrastructure of the growth ladder system that enhances economic vitality and plays a very important role in the capital market. The core of the value-up program is actively communicating with shareholders about plans to enhance corporate value that reflect the characteristics of KOSDAQ-listed companies, such as research and development (R&D) investment for scale-up as well as shareholder returns."
In response, the participating companies agreed on voluntary participation in the corporate value-up program and presented various opinions, including the need for institutional support considering the characteristics of the KOSDAQ market and the growth stages of companies.
In particular, they mentioned that institutional support is necessary to ensure that small and medium-sized venture companies, which lack the capacity to establish and implement corporate value-up plans, are not left out, and that guidelines should reflect the use of various growth indicators when establishing corporate value enhancement plans.
They also pointed out concerns about disclosure violations due to failure to meet targets, emphasizing the need to reduce the burden on companies in this regard, and called for a stable investment base by inducing interest and investment from foreign and institutional investors in value-up efforts.
An official from the Exchange stated, "To support active participation of small and medium-sized venture companies, we plan to prepare an education program for disclosure officers in cooperation with the Korea Listed Companies Association and the KOSDAQ Association, and provide English translation services for disclosure of corporate value enhancement plans and customized consulting for small businesses. We also plan to hold joint IR sessions with related organizations to promote outstanding or interested companies participating in the value-up program."
He added, "On the 2nd of next month, we will hold the second seminar on corporate value-up support measures to disclose the draft guidelines for corporate value enhancement plans and conduct final opinion gathering. After the guidelines are finalized, companies that are ready will be able to voluntarily disclose, and we plan to actively promote the value-up program and encourage participation by holding outreach explanation sessions for companies located in regional areas."
