Jo Hae-jin: "The Next Local Election and Presidential Election Will Be the Bankruptcy Proceedings of Conservative Parties"

Rep. Lee Cheol-gyu Seems to Criticize Being Mentioned as Floor Leader
People Power Party Situation Called 'Bizarre Behavior Below Common Sense'

On the 25th, Jo Hae-jin, a member of the People Power Party who ran for the 22nd general election in Gimhae Gap, Gyeongnam, and lost, harshly criticized his party, saying, "It seems that the People Power Party is trying to confirm that there is an underground beneath the bottom, and a dead end beneath the underground."

On the same day, Jo posted on Facebook, "The fact that a close aide to the president, who caused the judgment of the regime, is stepping forward to become the party leader without any reflection or self-restraint sends a signal to the people that the president's perception has not changed at all," he pointed out. This appears to be a criticism of the situation where Lee Cheol-gyu, a key figure in the pro-Yoon Seok-yeol faction, is being mentioned as the next floor leader after the defeat in the April 10 general election.

Jo described the party's situation as "an abnormal behavior below common sense," warning, "It seems that the People Power Party is trying to confirm that there is an underground beneath the bottom, and a dead end beneath the underground. If this continues, the next local elections and presidential election will be the bankruptcy proceedings of the conservative party." He added, "The progressive left-wing camp, with the Democratic Party as its base, will establish a permanent ruling system like Japan's Liberal Democratic Party."

He continued, "The golden time is passing. The president, who should bow his waist at a 90-degree angle, only slightly bowed his head, and the party is showing the appearance of a windless zone for reform, a blind spot for innovation, and an alien world billions of light-years away from public sentiment," raising his voice.

Jo also made a request to the president. He said, "If the president does not intend to manipulate the party by putting forward underlings as before, he must restrain a series of behaviors that go against public sentiment," adding, "That is a sign of the president's self-renewal and the way to prevent the party from rolling in the mud and entering the cesspool."

He emphasized, "If a definite reform is shown through the election of party leadership and floor leadership, the door to revival will open, but if not, a future of despair awaits. All members of the party must unite their efforts so that the emergency committee, floor leader election, and party convention all become a melting pot of reform."
