The Russian Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring) announced on the 25th (local time) that cryptocurrency was used to finance the terrorist attack that occurred on the 22nd of last month at the Crocus City Hall concert venue near Krasnogorsk, Moscow.

Yuri Chikhanchin, head of the Financial Monitoring Service, stated at the International Forum on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing that "citizens of multiple nationalities were involved in the concert hall terror attack," and "the attack was financed through several organizations using various means, including cryptocurrency."
He explained, "The terrorist attack was intricately planned and required an international conspiracy network to carry it out," adding, "The terrorists received support for funds, weapons, vehicles, and ammunition, and the terror organizers carefully coordinated their crimes and retreat from the crime scene."
He also added that many countries have expressed their willingness to cooperate with Russia's terrorism investigation.
Meanwhile, the terrorist attack resulted in 144 deaths and 551 injuries, and Russian authorities are investigating, alleging that Ukraine is connected to the attack.
