Balenciaga's 'Jacket and Pants' Similar to Korean Military Uniform
Transparent Tape Bracelet Sparks Controversy as Daiso 1,000 Won Item
Balenciaga, the French luxury brand known for occasionally releasing bizarre designs, has now launched a new product resembling Korean military uniforms. The combined price of the military-style jacket and pants exceeds 10 million won. The outfit closely resembles the military uniforms that veterans keep stored in their wardrobes, to the point that with slight modifications, one might mistake it for a luxury garment worth over 10 million won.
On the 25th, Balenciaga's official website featured a jacket and pants that closely resemble military uniforms. The jacket is priced at 6.49 million won, and the pants cost 3.83 million won. Purchasing the set requires a payment of 10.32 million won. These products are scheduled to be sold worldwide, including in the United States and the United Kingdom, and are currently available for pre-order.
The new Balenciaga jacket and pants received immediate attention for their similarity to the uniforms worn by Korean soldiers. On social media platforms and online communities, posts titled "Wearing the new Balenciaga and re-enlisting" have gained significant traction. Additionally, netizens responded with comments such as "Korean men would never buy this," "I have the exact same item in my wardrobe," and "Military uniform prices have really gone up."

Earlier, Balenciaga introduced a transparent tape-shaped bracelet as part of its Fall/Winter collection this year. The product resembles transparent tape commonly found in stationery or office supply stores, featuring the Balenciaga logo inside and the word "adhesive" printed on it. The bracelet is priced at 3,000 euros (approximately 4.32 million won). Subsequently, Balenciaga showcased a skirt resembling a wrapped towel in its 2024 Spring collection and released a clutch modeled after a famous potato chip last year. In 2022, the brand stirred controversy by unveiling the 'Trash Pouch,' designed to look like a garbage bag.
