Jindo-gun Opens Uldolmok Weekend Market Full of Flavor and Charm

The Uldolmok Weekend Market, full of the taste and charm of Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, will open on the 27th.

According to the county on the 25th, the Uldolmok Weekend Market will be held every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Uldolmok Square under the Jindo Bridge.

Delicious dishes such as turmeric handmade pork cutlet and grilled abalone with green onions, made using agricultural and marine products from the treasure island of Jindo, as well as specialties like glutinous black rice, seaweed, miyeok (sea mustard), and Jindo Hongju liquor will be sold, creating a space for merchants and tourists to communicate.

Also, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the same day, various performances showcasing the charm of Jindo, including traditional songs, Nanta drumming, fusion gugak (traditional Korean music), and traditional dance, will be held for visitors to enjoy together at the weekend market.

In particular, the opening ceremony will feature congratulatory performances by singers Kim Sang-hee, Park Woo-cheol, and Choi Young-cheol, along with various attractions and entertainment such as virtual reality (VR) photo opportunities, bringing vitality to the Uldolmok Weekend Market.

A county official said, “On this warm spring day, we expect the Uldolmok Weekend Market to be lively due to the increase in tourists using the ferry connecting Sol Beach Jindo and Jeju.” He added, “We hope visitors create memorable experiences in Jindo, which offers many attractions such as Nokjin Tourist Site’s Jindo Tower, the marine cable car, and the Yi Chung-mu Statue Skywalk.”
