Korea Expressway Corporation announced on the 25th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kazakhstan Road Administration on the 24th to cooperate in the development of road and transportation sectors.

This MOU was promoted to facilitate technical and human exchange between the two organizations and to expand Korea Expressway Corporation's participation in Kazakhstan road-related projects. The main contents include cooperation in road construction, operation and maintenance, and collaboration in developing toll road public-private partnership (PPP) projects.
A representative of Korea Expressway Corporation stated, "Taking this agreement as an opportunity, we will promote follow-up projects along with the currently operated and maintained Almaty Ring Road (total length 66 km), and contribute to Kazakhstan's road infrastructure and economic development through various technical support in the road and transportation sectors." He added, "In the future, we will actively participate in Kazakhstan road projects through public-private cooperation together with domestic construction companies and financial institutions."
Abdulin Tolegen, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Road Committee overseeing Kazakhstan's road policies, said, "We expect that Korea Expressway Corporation's excellent toll highway management technology and know-how will be transferred through this MOU."
