The resident complex community center 'Imdong Beodeulmaru' located in Imdong, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will officially open next month.
According to Buk-gu on the 25th, the 'Imdong Beodeulmaru Construction Project,' which began in May last year as part of the 'Imdong Urban Regeneration New Deal Project,' was completed on the 12th, and the building usage approval process has been finalized.
The Imdong Urban Regeneration New Deal Project is a project aimed at revitalizing the old downtown area by promoting resident living infrastructure development, residential environment improvement, and alleyway commercial district support since 2020, utilizing 8 billion KRW secured through a public contest led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The construction of Beodeulmaru is one of the major projects in the resident living infrastructure development sector.
The newly constructed Imdong Beodeulmaru is a resident communication hub facility built at Imdong 226-3 with a total project cost of about 4.1 billion KRW, consisting of three above-ground floors with a total floor area of 590.91㎡.
The main facilities by floor include ▲1st floor village cafe and souvenir shop ▲2nd floor multipurpose hall ▲3rd floor experience center. In particular, on the 2nd and 3rd floors, based on the main facilities, Chonnam National University's Biomaterials Development Center plans to operate a 'Digital Healthcare Experience Center' to promote the health of local residents.
Facility management will be entrusted to the 'Imdong Beodeuri Yagu Village Management Social Cooperative,' established for the post-management of the Imdong Urban Regeneration New Deal Project. After preparing to welcome residents by early May, the center is scheduled to officially open on the 13th.
