On the morning of the 25th, the KCTU and Labor Health Solidarity held a press conference in front of the stairs of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to conduct the "2024 Worst Murderous Company Selection Ceremony."

The company selected as the "Worst Murderous Company of 2024" was Lotte Construction, where five workers died last year. Additionally, Hanwha and Hyundai Construction, each with four deaths, were jointly selected as runners-up. According to the KCTU, all of these deceased workers were subcontractor employees.

Alongside this, "Woowa Brothers," the operator of "Baedal Minjok," and the prosecution were selected as special award recipients, demanding their social responsibility regarding workers' human rights.

The KCTU defines the phenomenon of workers dying at work sites as a "structural murder act by companies" and has been selecting and announcing the "Worst Murderous Company" annually since 2006.
