Cumulative Sales Surpass 2 Million... What Is APR's 'Beauty Device'?

Achieved 2 Million Units in 11 Months After Reaching 1 Million Cumulative Sales
Simultaneously Reached 1 Million Sales and 200 Billion KRW Revenue Last Year

Beauty tech company APR's beauty device 'MediCube AGE-R (AGE-R)' has surpassed 2 million units in cumulative sales both domestically and internationally.

APR announced on the 25th that as of the second week of April 2024, the cumulative sales volume of the AGE-R beauty device exceeded 2 million units worldwide.

This milestone was achieved approximately 3 years and 2 months after launching the brand's first beauty device, 'Derma EMS,' in March 2021. Furthermore, it took only 11 months to reach 2 million units sold since surpassing 1 million cumulative sales in May last year, accelerating the pace.

Sales revenue also showed rapid growth. AGE-R sold 600,000 units domestically and internationally in 2022, and last year, sales increased by 67% year-over-year to 1.05 million units. Last year's revenue was recorded at over 200 billion KRW, growing 82.8% compared to the previous year. With this, APR simultaneously achieved 1 million units sold and 200 billion KRW in revenue last year.

APR explained that this 2 million unit sales record is due to the strong growth in overseas markets in addition to domestic market performance. In the domestic market, where the product was launched first, positive word-of-mouth about the advantages such as AGE-R user reviews and price accessibility has contributed positively to sales. In fact, the beauty device 'Booster Pro' set a record by selling 17,000 units in 80 minutes during a live commerce event.

In overseas markets, sales have been generated in various regions including North America and Asia, with the U.S. market showing rapid growth. At the end of last year, events such as the Black Friday promotion increased AGE-R's awareness in the U.S., improving performance. At a pop-up store held in New York last March, approximately 35,000 people visited during the event period, recording daily sales of 100 million KRW. APR expects additional sales from Thailand, where it recently signed a distribution contract with a local company, to further drive AGE-R's performance.

Going forward, APR plans to simultaneously increase production and invest in research and development (R&D) to strengthen its presence in the beauty device market. In addition to launching next-generation beauty devices following the Booster Pro, which surpassed 100,000 units sold, APR will target the global market through a second factory being prepared in Pyeongtaek. The company also intends to continue R&D investments, including securing personnel and intellectual property rights related to beauty device development.

An APR representative stated, "The fact that AGE-R surpassed 2 million units sold in about 3 years since its launch is significant as it reflects the high purchase value recognized by consumers both domestically and internationally," adding, "We will strive to further elevate the status of K-beauty tech based on our beauty devices."
