Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) conducted a safety inspection together with private experts on small-scale construction projects of the Busan Port North Port redevelopment project.

BPA Conducts Safety Inspections at Small Construction Sites in Bukhang Redevelopment Project BPA employees inspecting the gravel laying process at the waterfront park site of the Bukhang Redevelopment Project.

This joint inspection aims to prevent major accidents by identifying risk factors on-site and taking proactive measures through technical guidance and management related to safety.

The inspection targeted a total of four sites, including the maintenance work for the waterfront park landscaping construction in the first phase of the North Port redevelopment project.

During the inspection, BPA focused on verifying matters related to accident prevention, such as ▲whether risk assessments were conducted at the work sites ▲implementation of safety measures according to technical guidance for construction accident prevention ▲appropriate use of industrial safety and health management expenses.

In particular, detailed checks were made on the provision and management of personal protective equipment for workers and confirmation of risk assessment results.

Jeon Seong-hoon, head of the Port Regeneration Project Group at BPA, said, “There is a tendency for major accidents to concentrate at small-scale construction sites with budgets under 5 billion KRW. We will do our best to prevent major accidents by identifying hazardous and dangerous factors together with experts experienced in safety management and taking prompt action.”
