‘Gimcheon Chi-yu Forest’ Designated as an Excellent Wellness Tourism Destination for the Third Consecutive Time

The National Gimcheon Healing Forest has been designated as an 'Excellent Wellness Tourism Destination' for three consecutive years.

The Korea Forest Welfare Institute announced on the 25th that Gimcheon Healing Forest has been re-designated as an excellent wellness tourism destination.

Excellent wellness tourism destinations are selected every two years by the Korea Tourism Organization through a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the appropriateness of wellness content, efforts to attract tourists, and future development potential.

Gimcheon Healing Forest has been designated as an 'Excellent Wellness Tourism Destination' for three consecutive times since 2020. This achievement is the result of operating forest healing programs such as hammock meditation, small equipment exercises, and barefoot walking in deep valleys and forests of birch and pine trees, establishing itself as a wellness tourism attraction in the Gyeongbuk region.

Park Han-jin, director of Gimcheon Healing Forest Center, said, “Since being selected as a new wellness tourism destination in 2020, Gimcheon Healing Forest has achieved the accomplishment of being re-designated for three consecutive years. Taking this re-designation as an opportunity, we will continue to discover various wellness contents and provide high-quality forest healing programs to visitors.”
