"Realized Politics Isn't Simple"
Yoon Criticized for "Should Have Given Discretion to Han Dong-hoon"
The luncheon meeting between President Yoon Seok-yeol and former People Power Party Emergency Response Committee Chairman Han Dong-hoon ultimately fell through. Amid speculation in political circles about a possible so-called 'Yoon-Han conflict,' Kim Jong-in, former standing advisor of the Reform New Party, advised that if Han intends to pursue politics, it would be better for him to keep his distance from President Yoon.
Former Reform New Party Standing Advisor Kim Jong-in recently commented on Han Dong-hoon, former Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, who declined President Yoon Seok-yeol's lunch invitation, saying, "He probably does not feel like eating by himself," and added, "He should distance himself from President Yoon to have any political hope." Kim Jong-in, former standing advisor of the Reform New Party, recently commented on Han Dong-hoon, former People Power Party Emergency Response Committee Chairman, who declined President Yoon Seok-yeol's luncheon invitation, saying, "He probably does not feel like having a meal himself," and "He needs to distance himself from President Yoon to have any political hope." Kim appeared on SBS YouTube's 'Political Consulting Stove League' on the 23rd and said, "If President Yoon had been capable of wise politics, he would have given Han discretionary power, but since he did not, conflict between the two was inevitable."
Han was offered a luncheon meeting with President Yoon through the Presidential Secretary on the 19th but politely declined due to health reasons. Regarding this, People Power Party lawmaker Kwon Young-se said, "I think Han was wrong," and former Saenuri Party (the predecessor of People Power Party) lawmaker Jeon Yeo-ok also criticized, saying, "Politics is about having a meal with people you dislike." However, despite such criticism, Kim argued, "Politics is not that simple."

Kim added, "That is just a common perception among our people," and said, "If Han wants to have some political hope, it is better to distance himself from President Yoon, and if he aligns himself with President Yoon, there is no hope at all." He continued, "Han must have realized that politics is not that simple. Based on his experience during the election process, he needs to reflect and consider what needs to be improved and deeply think about how to properly engage in politics."
