Jin Gyo-hoon, Gangseo District Mayor, Attends Donation Ceremony for Children with Rare and Intractable Diseases

Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo District, Seoul, attended the ‘Love Piggy Bank Heart Gathering Delivery Ceremony’ held at the Gangseo Community Center on the morning of the 24th.

The delivery ceremony was held with about 400 attendees, including children from local daycare centers and kindergartens, as well as childcare teachers, and proceeded in the order of ▲piggy bank delivery ceremony ▲children’s musical performance viewing.

The district holds the ‘Love Piggy Bank Heart Gathering’ sharing event so that children can donate the coins they have collected themselves to neighbors in need and learn the meaning of sharing and consideration.

This fundraising activity involved children from 185 local public, private, home, workplace, and corporate daycare centers and private kindergartens. The district plans to deliver the total donated amount of 22,689,230 KRW received to children battling rare and intractable diseases through the Seoul Community Chest of Korea.

Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “The value of the piggy banks collected by the children themselves is so profound that it cannot be measured in money,” and added, “We will make sure to deliver the precious donations collected by their small hands to children suffering from pediatric cancer and other rare and intractable diseases.”
