Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) has created 'Yeomri Space,' a space on the second floor of Yeomri-dong Community Center where residents can freely read and study, and held an opening ceremony on the morning of the 24th.
About 50 people, including Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Yeomri-dong civic groups, and residents, attended the ceremony to celebrate the opening of Yeomri Space.
On the day, Mayor Park Gang-su inspected Yeomri Space after the signboard unveiling ceremony.
Mayor Park Gang-su said, "To reduce the financial burden of studying and increase space efficiency, we have created a public self-study space in Yeomri-dong following Hapjeong-dong. I hope Yeomri Space becomes a place where youth and local residents can comfortably study, read books, and prepare for the future."
In the 2023 Mapo-gu Social Survey, the expansion of study cafes (33.7%) was selected as the most needed welfare service for youth, and Mapo-gu plans to expand public self-study spaces throughout the area accordingly.
