Information Security Campaign for Authorized Personnel in Planned Preventive Maintenance
Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power conducted an awareness campaign on information security precautions, such as the removal of computer equipment, targeting subcontractor personnel participating in the planned preventive maintenance of Saewool Unit 2 at the No. 1 Power Plant.
Saewool Nuclear Power Plant conducted an information security campaign targeting employees of partner companies.
During the planned preventive maintenance period, the campaign was conducted for subcontractor personnel performing maintenance activities and safety inspections. As the maintenance period nears completion, the campaign informed power plant entrants about key information security regulations, including the complete deletion procedure of nuclear power plant data when removing computer equipment, prohibition of tethering and Wi-Fi use, prohibition of portable storage devices such as USBs, and prohibition of unauthorized removal of nuclear power plant-related materials.
So Yooseop, head of Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters, stated, “Since the leakage of technical information related to nuclear power plants, which are critical national facilities, can cause significant damage, we will raise awareness of the importance of information security among entrants through this campaign to create a safer nuclear power plant.”
Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters shares information security regulations and procedures through regular information security councils with subcontractors to strengthen information security.
