Naju City in Jeollanam-do will hold a 'Small Concert to Welcome the New Spring' at 5:30 PM on the 26th at the outdoor stage of Daehosu Waterfront Park.
According to the city on the 24th, the concert will begin with a progress report on the park renovation project and commemorative speeches, followed by a harmonica performance by the Naju Senior Ensemble, Korean dance and street dance by the Department of Performing Arts and Dance at Dongshin University, and a choral performance by the Naju City Choir.
Daehosu Waterfront Park covers a total area of approximately 20,000㎡ and is a small but well-equipped park featuring a waterside deck promenade, lawn plaza, outdoor performance venue and seating, ground fountains, pavilions, and sports and playground facilities.
The city began actively promoting the Daehosu Waterfront Park tourism resource development project in June last year to renovate the park due to aging facilities and the failure of lotus flowers to bloom.
Through this project, repairs to the deck and sports facilities, lotus planting in sections, establishment of a wooden playground, installation of barefoot trails and foot baths, and dredging of the reservoir were completed in April this year.
Lotus flowers, which had disappeared for several years due to water quality issues, are expected to be in full bloom at Daehosu Reservoir in July and August this year.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, "We hope many citizens will show interest and participate in the small concert where they can enjoy a pleasant time with music at Daehosu Waterfront Park on a warm spring day."
