Gwangju Bank Launches 'Wa Bank Stealth Account'

Gwangju Bank announced on the 24th that it has launched the ‘WA Bank Stealth Account,’ a secret account that cannot be viewed through MyData or Open Banking services and can only be accessed by the account holder.

Gwangju Bank Launches 'Wa Bank Stealth Account'

Launched in line with the trend of avoiding external exposure of valuable personal information such as information confidentiality and anonymity, the ‘WA Bank Stealth Account’ is a deposit and withdrawal account that absolutely cannot be viewed by anyone other than the account holder. Anyone aged 17 or older with verified real-name identification can open an account through Gwangju Bank’s non-face-to-face channels (Gwangju WA Bank, mobile web banking).

Unlike existing services that allow users to log in with their own certificate (joint certificate or financial certificate) or other authentication methods to check financial status across all financial institutions through MyData or Open Banking services, this account enhances personal privacy protection by allowing access only when logged in with a specific certificate issued after device authentication under the account holder’s name on the Gwangju WA Bank (APP).

Additionally, unlike previous security services that required visiting a branch or using an automated teller machine (ATM) for withdrawals, the ‘WA Bank Stealth Account’ offers both convenience and security by enabling account opening, application, and transfer transactions solely through the Gwangju WA Bank (APP).

In conjunction with the launch of this new product, the ‘Shh! Stealth Account Friend Invitation Challenge’ event is being held, where 2,000 KRW will be instantly deposited into the account each time a friend is successfully invited using the user’s referral code, and the invited friend will also receive a 1,000 KRW new member reward.
