Once a Month for Employees and Partner Organizations
Let's Have Lunch at a Traditional Market
Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is promoting a 'Traditional Market Lunch Day' for county office and related agency employees to revitalize the local economy.
'Traditional Market Lunch Day' is an activity where public officials voluntarily eat lunch at traditional markets at least once a month by setting an example. This initiative was planned to discover traditional market restaurants that are not well known and to revive the declining traditional markets.
The target markets are Goseong Market and Goseong Dinosaur Market. It will be operated continuously from April, excluding market days (the 1st and 6th) for Goseong Market.
In particular, the county plans to designate April and May as intensive operation periods to enable departments or teams within the county office to use restaurants in the traditional markets more effectively. Outside of this period, it will be promoted as a regular operation period to encourage employees to use the traditional markets for gatherings such as company dinners or small meetings.
Furthermore, efforts will be made to encourage related agencies and companies in the area to participate in this Lunch Day to further accelerate the revitalization of traditional markets.
County Governor Lee Sang-geun said, "We expect that the Traditional Market Lunch Day will be a good opportunity to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy and to promote the charm of traditional markets."
He added, "Traditional markets are an important pillar of our local economy, so let us all work together to take the lead in further revitalizing the traditional markets of Goseong-gun."
