Anseong City "Expanding Illegal Parking Enforcement Grace Period from June"

Lunch break extended by 30 minutes... Enforcement grace period from 7 PM to 8 AM next day
24-hour strict enforcement in school zones, fire hydrants, and other absolute no-go areas

Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province has decided to ease the illegal parking enforcement hours within the city starting from June to revitalize the local economy.

This relaxation of enforcement follows the approval of the adjustment proposal for enforcement exemption hours submitted by the city to the Anseong Police Station Traffic Safety Facilities Review Committee on the 18th. This agenda had previously been submitted by the city to the committee in December last year but was deferred.

Accordingly, Anseong City will exempt illegal parking enforcement during lunchtime from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, extending the exemption period by 30 minutes compared to before. For the evening hours, enforcement will be exempted from 7:00 PM until 8:00 AM the next day.

However, the city will not apply the exemption to six major illegal parking prohibition zones: ▲children protection zones ▲within 5 meters of fire hydrants ▲within 5 meters of intersections or corners ▲within 10 meters of bus stops ▲crosswalks ▲sidewalks, where 24-hour enforcement will continue.

Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong, said, "We hope that this exemption in parking enforcement hours will help revitalize traditional markets and surrounding stores and somewhat alleviate nighttime parking difficulties."
