Jeongeup-si Opens 'Advanced Industrial Complex Multipurpose Cultural Center' with 11.3 Billion KRW Investment

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk held the opening ceremony of the Advanced Industrial Complex Multipurpose Cultural Center in Sinjeong-dong on the 24th and officially began its operation.


According to the city, the Advanced Industrial Complex Multipurpose Cultural Center was selected in 2019 by the National Balanced Development Committee through a government multi-ministry project competition. In 2020, it was chosen as a multipurpose complex center project to improve residential conditions in industrial complexes in Jeonbuk Province, with a total budget of approximately 11.3 billion KRW, including 1.5 billion KRW in national funds and 9.8 billion KRW in local funds, to promote its construction.

The building consists of two structures with a total floor area of about 3,100㎡ and three stories above ground.


The main facilities include ▲ sports spaces (community sports room, national sports center) ▲ cultural spaces (club rooms, book cafe, educational spaces) ▲ meeting spaces (auditorium, multipurpose room, R&D support center).


Going forward, the Multipurpose Cultural Center will serve as a complex cultural facility that satisfies the cultural needs of workers and local residents and helps improve their quality of life.


At the opening ceremony, the Jeonbuk Autonomous Province Bio Regulatory Innovation Center plaque unveiling ceremony was also held to attract a bio-specialized complex.


The Bio Regulatory Innovation Center is an affiliated institution of the Advanced Bio Specialized Complex Promotion Team of Jeonbuk Technopark, a public institution of Jeonbuk Autonomous Province. It was established to enhance synergy effects in attracting the bio-specialized complex and to accelerate investment attraction and industrial growth through regulatory innovation in the bio industry.


Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “With the opening of the Multipurpose Cultural Center, I hope Jeongeup will become a ‘city good to work in’ that can take responsibility not only for companies but also for the welfare of workers.”


Meanwhile, the opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Lee Hak-su, Jeonbuk Governor Kim Kwan-young, National Assembly member Yoon Jun-byeong, City Council Chairman Ko Kyung-yoon, key guests, and heads of local R&D innovation institutions.
