Cheonan-si Signs Agreement to Promote Startup Investment Attraction

Korea Scale-up TIPS Association Builds Network with Chungnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation and Others

On the 24th, Cheonan City in Chungnam announced that it has signed a mutual cooperation agreement with the Korea Scale-up TIPS Association and the Chungnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation to "revitalize investment attraction for local startups."

The Korea Scale-up TIPS Association, which signed the agreement, is a private investment platform composed of 46 Scale-up TIPS full member operating companies. It was established with permission from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2022 to build and promote the startup ecosystem and was registered as a non-profit corporation in January last year.

The other partner, the Chungnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, is a public accelerator in the Chungnam region that was selected last year by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups as a TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startups) operating company and is the only organization in the Chungcheong area selected for the Ministry's mother fund this year.

According to the agreement, these institutions will promote △ discovery, nurturing, and investment cooperation for promising startups and follow-up support △ joint discovery and promotion of cooperative projects △ network building to revitalize investment △ technology development and information sharing for promising startups △ strengthening support and establishing a collaboration system through linkage of each institution’s nurturing programs.

Mayor Park Sang-don said, "The starting point for revitalizing investment linkage for Cheonan startups is the establishment of a close network among startup-related organizations," adding, "This agreement will greatly contribute to the activation of the local startup ecosystem."
