Jeonbuk Sports Middle and High School (Principal Kim Ssangdong) has risen as a track and field powerhouse by winning six gold medals at the 53rd National Middle and High School Track and Field Championships.
At the 53rd National Middle and High School Track and Field Championships held over five days from the 17th to the 20th at Yecheon Stadium in Gyeongbuk, Lee Woo-min, a third-year student at Jeonbuk Sports High School, won two gold medals by finishing the 800m race in 1 minute 54 seconds and the 1500m race in 4 minutes 5 seconds.

From the same school, Kim Min-ji (female, 3rd year) set a new tournament record in the javelin throw with 51.87m, Lee Ah-young (female, 3rd year) threw the hammer 48.78m, Kim Geon-woo (3rd year) jumped 6.87m in the long jump, and Choi Myung-jin (1st year) ran the 100m in 10.74 seconds, sweeping gold medals. Kang Seo-young (female, 2nd year) won a silver medal in the long jump, and Moon Yoo-bin (female, Jeonbuk Sports Middle School, 3rd year) also earned a bronze medal in the high jump.
Earlier, Lee Woo-min earned the honor of double champion in the same events at the 38th National Sports High School Athletics Competition held over two days on the 5th and 6th at Ulsan Sports Complex.

A representative of Jeonbuk Sports Middle and High School said, "We received support for training expenses from the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education and built basic fitness and specialized skills through training in Jeju Island last February," adding, "We are looking forward to winning several medals at the upcoming National Sports Festival."
