Establishing a Win-Win Business Model for Eco-Friendly Agricultural Producers, Consumers, and Complex Operators
Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 24th that it held a kickoff briefing and working council meeting for the establishment of the management and operation plan for the Geochang Organic Industry Complex Service Support Complex (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Organic Complex’) at the Agricultural Technology Center, attended by 27 working council members and related officials.
The Geochang Organic Complex project is a large-scale project worth 18 billion KRW including national and provincial funds. It aims to spread sustainable eco-friendly agriculture for the environment and future generations, and to increase the consumption of eco-friendly agricultural products by informing consumers of the value of eco-friendly agriculture. The complex, which offers food, entertainment, and experiential activities, will be located in the Changpowon area of Wolpyeong-ri, Namsang-myeon.

Last year, the county received basic plan approval from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and is currently undergoing administrative procedures for preliminary building permits with the goal of opening in 2027. Starting with this kickoff briefing, the county plans to accelerate the establishment of detailed plans for the pre-operation preparation of the Organic Complex.
Since space design varies depending on the operation content, before architectural design, the county plans to include in the detailed operation plan ▲a win-win business model for producers, consumers, and operators ▲discovery of related local organizations, cooperatives, and individuals who can participate in the operation ▲finalization of the operation method ▲producer organization and detailed plans for planned production.
The working council launched on this day includes 25 active practitioners from various fields such as Kim Dong-seok, Director of the Geochang Agricultural Technology Center, related officials, members of the county council, Geochang Military Environmental Agriculture Association, experiential activity leaders, dining menu developers, local food practitioners, and architects.
After the briefing, the meeting chaired by Director Kim Dong-seok of the Agricultural Technology Center discussed the direction of the Organic Complex plan establishment and measures to realize it, including producer organization and strengthening the local food certification system to promote eco-friendly agriculture.
Director Kim Dong-seok said, “I hope that substantial operation plans will be prepared through the participation of working experts,” and added, “We will consider the opinions raised in today’s meeting together, and ask for continuous communication and participation from experts related to eco-friendly agriculture.”
