Yeonsu-gu, Incheon announced on the 24th that it will implement the first real-name system for advertisements in the Incheon area this month by attaching QR codes.
The district has mandated that QR codes containing information such as the permit number, display period, signboard specifications, and advertisement producer be attached to the lower right side of outdoor signboards, measuring 10cm in width and 10cm in height, so they can be easily checked with a mobile phone camera.
The QR code real-name system for advertisements involves pre-issuing QR codes to advertisers and outdoor advertising operators during the signboard installation guidance process, and inputting data into the pre-issued QR codes after approval. This applies to all rooftop and pole-mounted signboards, wall-mounted signboards, and projecting signboards installed in the Yeonsu-gu area.
Until now, the method of attaching real-name system stickers to advertisements under the Outdoor Advertising Act was vulnerable to damage and contamination, and there was an issue with effectiveness as stickers were not attached to signboards already installed on buildings but stored separately.
A Yeonsu-gu official stated, "Through the QR code real-name system for advertisements, we expect to enhance the safety and responsibility awareness of outdoor advertising operators and enable quick response by easily identifying operator information in case of signboard falling accidents."
