Busan Office of Education Enhances School Participation Skills for Parent Association Presidents

Strengthening Parent Association Presidents' Competencies Training on the 25th-26th

Expanding Communication and Proactive School Participation in the Educational Community

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yun-su) announced on the 24th that it will operate the ‘2024 School Year Parent Association Presidents Capacity Building Training’ for about 630 parent association presidents in the Busan area over two days, on the 25th and 26th, at the Busan Education Research and Information Center auditorium.


This training was prepared to activate communication among the educational community, spread a culture of proactive school participation by parents, and strengthen the capabilities of parent association presidents.


The Office of Education will conduct training for elementary school parent association presidents on the 25th, and for middle, high, and special school parent association presidents on the 26th.


The training will proceed in the order of awarding the Superintendent’s Commendation to 33 individuals recognized last year for their contributions to parent association operations and school participation, a special lecture on the role of parent associations, and guidance on school participation support projects.


Kang Nae-hee, Head of the Secondary Training Department at Busan Education Training Institute, will give a lecture titled ‘The Role of Parent Associations in Activating Parent Participation in Schools.’ Director Kang will provide detailed information on the responsibilities and authority of parent associations, as well as effective communication methods among students, teachers, and parents.


Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “Active participation of parents is essential to enhance school educational capacity,” adding, “We will take the lead in spreading a culture of parental participation through strengthening the capabilities of parent associations and operating various school participation support projects.”
